Tour of Flanders

Being predominantly flat terrain, the Flanders region in Belgium offers quite the ride between Forrests and meadows. Between dunes and along canals. This being a nearly 1.000 km trip, I’m not going to attempt it as my first tour. But once I tested all my gear, and especially my body, it will be one of the first tours.

I found this tour on Eurovelo and it offers a great ride along many of the most beautiful places in Flanders. From small towns to historic cities. It’s all there. I plan to stay on small campings or in peoples gardens along the route. No fancy hotels or B&B’s on this ride. Mostly, I’m planning to follow this route to the smallest detail, but on some occasions, I will deviate. For example, the Kemmelberg isn’t in this route, and it holds great memories for me. On its flanks, is a place where I used to go as part of youth camps. Would be great to go back there.
